ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

This one-hour tabletop exercise introduces HR professionals to the cybersecurity threat known as Famous Chollima, where attackers target organizations through the talent acquisition process. Participants will walk through a realistic hiring scenario gone wrong and learn how both criminals and defenders are using AI in today's recruiting environment. 

The session highlights three key opportunities where AI can be used for good or for harm:

• AI in Applicant Fraud: How attackers use AI to create fake resumes, impersonate candidates, and automate social engineering. 
• AI for HR Defense: How HR teams can use AI tools to verify identities, detect manipulated content, and strengthen screening workflows. 
• AI in Response: How AI can help HR and security teams quickly assess and respond to suspicious applicant behavior. 

HR Professionals will leave with practical, easy-to-apply safeguards to protect their hiring pipeline, strengthen collaboration with IT/security teams, and reduce organizational exposure to recruitment-based cyber-attacks.

Aslinn Merriman is an IT professional with over ten years of cybersecurity and privacy experience, dedicated to building a "digital bridge" that makes security knowledge accessible to all.
