Simple Succession Planning (and Development!)

Phil Hauck facilitated TEC/Vistage CEO Groups in Northeast Wisconsin for 30 years (retiring last year), and has developed several mantras about what most CEOs don’t do enough of, and/or don’t do well … and he’ll share them with us. In addition, Phil was state president of the Independent Business Assn. of Wisconsin, and president of the Healthy Lifestyles Coop of Brown County, which at its height had 170 company members.  He has had the opportunity to work with more than 25 non-profits and 100 local companies of all sizes.  Today, he is active as a board member with the Farmory, the Bay Area Community Council, and the Green Bay Packers Mentor-Protégé Program.

About the Program:

Unfortunately, most of our CEOs don’t get it.  They DO think that employee development is important, but they don’t really know how to do it … and until they do, they won’t pay attention to what we as HR/OD experts can do for them.  

Or, maybe that’s not so.  If we have the right stories and approach, maybe we can get them to listen, and to implement.

Phil will provide some stories based on his experiences, as well as some forms that we can use to illustrate to our CEOs how it can work … maybe not sophisticatedly, but for starters.  The reason they don’t move forward is that they don’t know how.  He’ll provide us some tools.

·         Participants will gain an understanding of how the elements of both Succession Planning and its related counterpart, Employee Development are linked to the success of your organization.

·         Actionable solutions will be presented, by learning some “simple tools” to get your Succession Planning and Development program off the ground and moving forward.
