ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:

Gloria Sinclair Miller, SHRM-SCP is an accomplished Senior Executive with more than 20 years of success in the human resources within the banking, retail, pharmaceutical, and non-profit industries.  Concurrently, Gloria has served as an Independent Senior Consultant focused in helping small businesses develop their HR function or manage their talent globally.  In her current role as a Field Services Director with the Society for Human Resources Management, Gloria is responsible for overseeing the fostering and promoting of memberships, programs and services for SHRM in the eastern region of the U.S. Gloria comes to this role after serving on the board of directors for the Philadelphia Chapter in multiple roles over the years including Chapter President. Gloria‘s professional credentials include the SHRM-SCP certification, as well as both a Masters and Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resources Management from Widener University and Wilmington Universities respectively.

Mary Cheddie, SHRM-SCP is Divisional Director, East for SHRM. In her role, she is responsible for member acquisition and retention, leadership development for volunteer leaders, chapters, and state councils, and creating the value-added proposition for SHRM.  Cheddie has more than 35 years of domestic and international experience in all aspects of human resources and training. She has extensive experience with strategic planning, M&As, and in starting and turning around businesses.  Prior to joining SHRM, she served as senior vice president of human resources for Interval Leisure Group, Inc., as well as other executive level roles.  She earned her MBA from Upper Iowa University, a bachelor’s degree from Thomas Edison State College in Trenton, New Jersey, and is certified as a SHRM-SCP.  Cheddie has more than 35 years of SHRM volunteer leadership experience at the national, regional, state, and local levels.  She also served on the Waldorf College Alumni Board from 2004 through 2008 and was the President of the Dallas HR Association in 2000 (one of the largest affiliated SHRM chapters).

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:  

Strategic planning is an important part of business operations in order to remain agile and competitive in today’s marketplace.  It is the guiding light for how a business will live out its mission – in other words, its reason for existing.  In this program, Gloria and Mary will cover many concepts critical to the process by discussing the value and fundamentals of strategic planning and budgeting, as well as walking through the Strategic Planning Life Cycle. 

In this interactive workshop, you will apply these concepts while simultaneously participating in, and providing feedback during, a strategic planning process for the Green Bay Area SHRM chapter.  You will participate in activities where you will learn how to:

·       Identify primary objectives for the strategic plan

·       Develop SMART goals and action plans

·       Execute and evaluate the strategic plan
