Green Bay Area Catholic Education, Inc. (GRACE)  is looking for a full- time Human Resources Generalist to join our team!

The Green Bay Area Catholic Education (GRACE) school system consists of nine preschool through eighth grade schools located in the greater Green Bay area.

The HR Generalist will be responsible for all the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including first line contact for employee questions and issues, processing payroll, benefits, and leave, and enforcing GRACE policies and practices.


First line contact for employees. Assist with payroll, benefit and miscellaneous questions.  Develop mutually beneficial working relationships with employees at all levels.

Maintain accurate records in HRIS and payroll system and any vendor partner websites.

Assists with hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with Principals and other Supervisors to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

Conducts onboarding and ensures background checks and pre-employment training is completed.

Responsible for completing employee verifications.

Conducts new hire orientation and provides a good first impression for new hires.

Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development and other as directed by HR Director.

Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the HR Director.

Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Support GRACE's mission of the Catholic faith and excellence in education

Proficient with the MS Office Suite, Google Drives, Google Docs and Gmail or related software.

Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.

At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.

SHRM-CP or PHR certification a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift 30 pounds at times.
