Positivity in the Workplace: The Benefits and How to Get More

 Presented by Tina Hallis

Rock Garden – Windsor Room

1951 Bond St. Green Bay

11:15am – 1:15pm

Positivity in the Workplace: The Benefits and How to Get More

Gallup estimates that negativity costs US companies $500 Billion each year. This number starts to make sense when we consider the numerous studies that show increasing positivity in our workplaces improves morale, productivity and overall performance.  So, who’s responsible for improving positivity at work?  This program talks about the roles that the company and the individual play.  Using the science of Positive Psychology and Neuroscience, we will explore strategies for improving both the work environment and each person’s perspective to make it easier for everyone to bring their best to work.

Attendees will:

  1. Learn the many benefits of increasing positivity in their workplaces, including improved engagement, productivity, and retention summarized from over 200 academic papers.
  2. Explore strategies from research on motivation for creating a work environment that promotes a positive culture including autonomy, mastery, belonging, physical and psychological environment, and purpose.
  3. Use the Path for PositivityTM to discover simple, science-based practices individuals can use to increase their own positivity, which also influences the positivity of coworkers and employees at all levels.

Tina Hallis, Ph.D. is certified in Positive Psychology through the WholeBeing

Institute, an Authorized Partner for Everything DiSC®, and a Professional Member

of the National Speakers Association. She worked for 20+ years in Biotechnology

at small start-up companies and large corporations. Because of her experience in

R&D, operations, product management, and contract services, she has great insight

into the different priorities and challenges of individual departments.

In 2011 she discovered a new science called Positive Psychology that focuses on how

all of us can live our best, most meaningful lives. Seeing the powerful impact this

information had on improving people and organizations, she decided to create her own

company, The Positive Edge. Her focus is to share insights and strategies that make work

more enjoyable and help organizations become more successful.
